Analysis of Novell Corona (COVID-19) virus statistics

This page provide analysis of the Corona Virus statistics as sourced from official sources and attempts to present them in meaningful and useful formats to aid further interpretation. This page is updated daily based on the WHO and JHU. See page footer for further notes.

Infection & Death Rate Indices (IRI/DRI) of Corona (COVID19) virus statistics - UPDATED Daily

ALERT: The Infection Rate Index (IRI) indicates whether the spread of infection is accelerating or decelerating, whether peaks have been reached or whether a second wave is growing. You can compare these directly between other countries and view the IRI curves below. To view the index for other countries, view the Global League Table and click on a country in the table.

ALERT: The NEW Death Rate Index (DRI) indicates whether death from infection is accelerating or decelerating, whether peaks have been reached or whether a second wave is growing. You can compare these directly between other countries and view the DRI curves below. To view the index for other countries, view the Global League Table and click on a country in the table.

The Infection Rate Index is a derived metric with a value between 0 and 1. It is used to determine whether the daily confirmed cases - and thus the confirmed spread of infection - appears to be accelerating or decelarating and is based on confirmed cases over the last 14 days. It is calculated uniformily across all countries and is therefore directly comparable between countries to show which areas currently have increasing or decreasing paces of infections. This may therefore indicate when a peak has been reached and if a second wave of infections is growing.

The Death Rate Index is a derived metric with a value between 0 and 1. It is used to determine whether the daily deaths - and thus the mortality from infection - appears to be accelerating or decelarating and is based on deaths recorded over the last 14 days, in the country. It is calculated uniformily across all countries and is therefore directly comparable between countries to show which areas currently have increasing or decreasing paces of deaths. This may therefore indicate when a peak in deaths has been reached and if a second wave of deaths is growing.

This page summarises the IRI & DRI charts of several countries to show comparisons between them.

It goes without saying that a massive thanks goes to ALL the people around the world working tirelessly to manage the spread of the virus, conduct research and work to create a vaccine, all for the good of humanity. The people of EARTH working together for a common cause. If only we could collaborate much more on other beneficial projects BEFORE the next 'SCARY' thing is on our doorstep!
